The Class AAA Northeast Regionals will be held March 5-6 at Bethlehem Liberty High School.
13 wrestlers will comprise each bracket for the three state tournament berths.
District 11 will receive six of the 13 spots in the tournament.
District 2 will qualify four wrestlers and District 4 will send the top three qualifiers to the regional.
In the past, the top four wrestlers from the sub-regional qualified for the regional tournament.
The Class AAA championships will be held at Hazleton Area High School.
District 2 Class AA wrestlers will be that much tougher this year with the addition of District 11 to the Northeast AA Regional
at Williamsport High School on March 5-6.
The reason for the change was that the PIAA reduced the number of regionals throughout the state from five to four.
District 11 will join Districts 2 and 4 in the regional and will qualify six wrestlers for the tournament.
Districts 2 and 4 will qualify four wrestlers each to vie for the five state qualifying berths.
The PIAA state wrestling tournament will be March 11-13 at HersheyPark.
The District 2 championships will be Feb. 26-27.
The Class AA championships were tentatively scheduled for King's College's Scandlon gym or the University of Scranton's John Long Center.
